October has been a pretty busy month so far and it's not even over yet!

October 1st was my mom's birthday so as many of you know how emotional that day was for me I was in no shape to be blogging but let me start from the beginning. Jessica and I made plans to go to her grave with some flowers from her funeral, my mom loved flowers! MadiJo ended up getting RSV and to be safe the doctors put her in the hospital so those plans were out. Deza, Aunt Lisa, Taylor and Corbin asked if I wanted to go to Alexandria with them before going to Momma's grave. I knew that if I didn't go with them I would end up just crying all day so I went. We had a lot of fun too which helped my day so much! You would have to know my family but I would so not want to go shopping with all of them very often. I'm just not use to the drama that comes with them. I love them very much though. :) After we came home we loaded up flowers and headed to the cemetery. This would be my first time to actually get out at her grave and the second time to go to her grave site at all. Needless to it was very emotional for all of us! We all cried and tried to talk about the good times to help us feel better.

After we finished up crying and what not we went to look at the other headstones in the cemetery to give me an idea of what I wanted to get for Momma when the time came. It's still going to be a while before we can actually set a headstone at her grave because there's still a pretty good size mound of dirt that has to settle so the headstone doesn't lean. I noticed a headstone towards the front of the cemetery that was huge and went to look at it. The name was Corbin Carpenter, a name that was familiar to me but couldn't remember why. As we got closer it came to me.
When my accident happened I received a phone call from a young boy about my age named Corbin. I don't remember the conversation exactly but I can remember his story. He was in a bull riding accident that left him paralyzed with little hope of walking again. Seven months after his injury he was walking again and back to roping cattle again. His mom, Theresa, wrote a book about her son and his recovery. He called me to tell me to never give up hope that one day I will walk again. I will never forget that phone call. In 2010 at the age of 19 Corbin was in a car accident that took his life. I had no idea that this cowboy who overcame paralysis was taken from this world in a simple car accident. If you haven't heard of his story please purchase a copy of the book! It's a tear jerker I can assure you.

Sunday came so fast because I was patiently waiting on the arrival of Sommer. She's the beautiful platinum female in the picture above. I was so excited to go to the Alexandria airport at 6 to pick her up. She flew a 13 hour flight from New York to Alexandria from a breeder who is fantastic! When we got her home I settled her in for the night and went to bed. She's doing really well now finally letting me hold her and stuff. I'm so excited to have babies from her!!! 💕

October 11, 2016 MadiJo had a check up appointment in Houston just to make sure everything was going good after her surgery. Jessica had to drive the five hours there to stay about four hours then turn around and drive the five hours to come home. It was an extremely long day for them both. I missed MadiJo so much I couldn't stand it. I waited up that night to see her!

I have therapy twice a week in between all of these appointments but there is also several more things going on this month too. I had to go to the doctors today to clean out my ear where I pushed wax so far into my ear canal that I couldn't hear anything!
We go to Baton Rogue October 24 for my Baclofen pump trial and afterwards we will find out when, where and final details of the surgery to put the pump in
Tuesday October 18 the wheelchair people are coming to therapy to fit me for my new chair!
October 19 Brantyn has a doctor appointment for his stomach problem
As you guys can tell it's been an still continuing to be a busy month!!
I got to be put on the side-by-side for the first time! They put the hoyer lift sling under me and used it to put me in the back seat where I had the back of the front seat to keep me from sliding. I had a lot of fun!
