October is mental health awareness month so I thought I'd do a blog about it. I plan to do a video before Halloween about it. I had to do an English essay about social media sites leading to a rise in cyber bullying. I decided I'd go just a step further by writing about cyber bullying on social media leading to teen girls committing suicide. Over the last last fifteen years I've heard of so many stories about teen girls killing themselves because some jack asses said they were ugly. God most of them are drop dead beautiful in my opinion.
One young girl you may remember quite well is Amanda Todd. She killed herself back in October 2013. She was bullied by an adult male that got her to show her breast over a web cam. Well just imagine that he would record it and use those pictures to blackmail her into giving him a show. When she refused he showed everyone from her school the pictures. She tried to move away three times if I remember right. Each time the man would find her and he'd show her new classmates the photos. She committed suicide on October 10, 2013.
There are other examples that I could share with all of you but I won't. These girls took their own life because someone was bullying them. Could you live with the thought that something you said led to someone killing themselves? I know I couldn't. People need to just keep ugly comments to themselves instead of expressing them. Words hurt, not like a knife but it can have deadly results like a knife. You need to think ever so carefully what you say judging someone. It's not our place to judge. We are all human that makes mistakes and have faults.
If you are thinking of harming yourself please contact I and I'll listen. I will do my best to help you anyway I can. I may not have been in your shoes but I can relate to how you’re feeling. If you don't want to contact me please call this hotline +18002738255. They can help you if you let them!
