Hey guys!
Sorry it’s been so long since I have been back here to let everyone know what has been going on. I celebrated my 11th year anniversary back in February of my spinal cord injury. My cat, Binx, had five kittens on February 29th. I have not had kittens since I was eleven or even younger so it has been a whirlwind. They have been very entertaining to say the least.
I’ve been really busy with school work. I have been taking a natural science class as well as a social science class. They are both very fascinating but I cannot tell you how glad I am that they are over. I got A’s in both of them so I still have my 4.0 GPA.
Louisiana has gone under a stay-at-home order for about two months now or at least that is how it feels. I don’t go a lot of places with me in school but it’s still good to know I can go somewhere if I want too. I have only left my house about 4 times since the order. I have stayed busy but I’m still ready for this to be over. I need some tattoo therapy. I also have so many projects I want to do but I have to stay home instead of going to get what I’m looking for which is frustrating.
I am currently on a week break with school. I have been so ready for this break for a long time now. I wasn’t going to get a week off because we had scheduled my driving training to begin this week but unfortunately due to the pandemic and the quarantine we have had to postpone until everything else opens back up. The DMV is closed so I can’t do my testing. There is also a two week Quarantine required coming into Texas. I’m super excited that everything is ready to go and now we just have to find a time! Driving has been one of my main goals for several years now. It is now surreal that it is actually happening.
I have finally started reading again as well as started an Instagram account to follow along what books I am reading. The username is @_bookslayer_ if anyone wants to follow it. It’s taking me a while to read my books so there’s not a lot of post on it just yet but as I continue reading the post will get better. There still a learning curve doing an account like this.
Salem, my other cat, had four kittens on April 21st. I’m so ready to get them fixed so I don’t have to worry about having kittens. Binx goes in this Thursday to get spayed. She is already in heat again and driving everyone crazy with all of her sex noises. Eventually they will be declawed like my two older cats but for right now I just need to worry about getting them where they can’t have kittens anymore until this quarantine is over. It has been a pain in the butt to find a vet to spayed during the quarantine because of state mandated orders to be emergency only. I just happened to be an email subscriber for one of my vets offices and they said that they were opening up a few appointments and I emailed them back immediately to get on the list.
I have officially ended my general education courses in school! Starting May 4 I will officially begin my area of study courses. I am so looking forward to actually getting into my psychology and graphic design courses but I am also worried that I’m not going to be able to keep her and I’m going to end up failing one of my courses. I’m so thankful right now that I only take two courses at a time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep up my 4.0 GPA and become valedictorian of my class. That is my goal and I’m going to try my best to stick to it.
I have a lot of things that I want to get done during this week break and I’m not sure how I’m going to fit everything in at the moment. One of my main goals was to update you guys so that is one big one off the list so far. My intestine problem has only gotten worse so I’m trying to get something done about that but with Quarantine going on it’s hard to find doctors because I’m afraid that I’m going to get sick if I go visit a doctor. I’m pretty sure that I have irritable bowel syndrome, which there is no treatment other than basic lifestyle and diet changes. I’m trying to gather all of the information I can find on my condition so that I can try to come up with a treatment plan for myself. I have also started taking a lot of vitamins that is supposed to help align your intestinal track to help you with your G.I. tract. So far I have only missed a couple of days of my vitamins but I’m probably not going to see results or difference within just a few days of taking them. The bottle says it takes about 4 weeks to see a difference.
I’ll talk again soon!
-April
